Obsessive Compulsive Roll over and notice that I should have left ten minutes ago and that there’s no way in hell that I’m going to make it on time. Run out of my house without shoes and turn around to grab some, reaching also for some cash, my purse and a key to the house. Count the cracks in sidewalk but my rhythm’s screwed up this time in a hurry to reach this destination rhythmic feet disturbed don’t step on the cracks don’t step on the cracks one, two, three, four, five....... three hundred and seven three ‘o eight, three ‘o nine, three ten.... don’t step on the cracks don’t step on the cracks almost there four streets to go rhythmically moving at a faster pace than normal I usually arrive everywhere earlier than everyone else and adjust to the silence of the empty hallways before they are disrupted with the loudness of teenage voices bragging about their athletic capabilities and how much weed they smoke in their off season. Hurry hurry, hurry, hurry five minutes six minutes seven minutes late one street away six hundred and twelve six hundred and thirteen six hundred and fourteen.... don’t step on the cracks don’t step on the cracks don’t step on the cracks. |

My mother always tells me that its good to have a little OCD, but when it starts interfering with your happiness it has gone to far... Just a little quote for you... Great poem! ~lisa |

I wrote this on my way to summer gym one day because I was supposed to be there at eight thirty and I left at eight twenty-eight and it takes ten minutes to get to my school and I was flipping out and I have OCD... in other forms also.. but anyway. Thanks everyone for replying. I've never seen you on the streets of this town, I've never seen you just hanging around, But you still tell me that you know me... ~Justin Sane |

I don't think I've ever felt so much anxiety within one poem. This is so great...thanks for posting it, Allysa. ~Carly "Feelings are not supposed to be logical. Dangerous is the man who has rationalized his emotions." |

I love your description about it; maybe it'll cause more people to understand it a little better. |

Wow, this is very intense. OC behaviour is a pain in the ass so I know where you're coming from here. You've really gone into a decent depth with this and got your message across clearly. Well done and thanks for posting. ![]() ~M Imagination=nostalgia for the past, the absent; it is the liquid solution in which art develops the snapshots of reality. |
