This is a poem by my 10-yr-old, who doesn't have his own "PIP" name yet.Consider this his "preliminary" first post!~SM

I step up to the plate...
The pitcher throws the ball.
I swung a little late...
But it was a fair call,
for the ump called it a strike,
and then I got a little scared.
The pitcher threw the ball again
and with the bat I flared.
The ball went soaring over the pitcher,
past the second baseman,
over the outfielder,
and then homeplate was taken.
My coach screamed with joy
as I walked to the dugout.
My friends screamed "Oh boy!
That put us in head count!"

This was done by a ten year old? You've got to be kidding me. It's a wonderful poem. I play softball myself, brought back some really good memories. Tell him to keep up his writting cause this is really good. I've been gone for a while and to come back to a good poem like this was a really nice welcome.

daaaaangg...... lol, no way was that done by a 10-year-old, he did an awesome job. let me just say, if a 16yearold persay had posted that, i still would have said awesome. so yeah, good job!

Thank you for reading and responding! Yes, he is remarkable. I've been writing poetry for many years, and at night, he sits by my side writing in his own journal. Chip off the ole block. As soon as I figure out how to create his own PIP name, he'll be posting his work himself. Again, thanks. He is beaming at the comments. What inspiration.

oh this is VERY good for a ten year old! i teach and some of the six year olds and seven year olds come up with the most amazing stuff! tell your boy that he's going to go alond way with that head of his- or his softball playing.
