You’re sitting in the passenger seat of his old red car, watching the trees in the headlights fade to black as they go by. The trees remind you of life, right as the trees become discernable, they’re gone again into the shapeless blob of night. Finally he parks the car and opens the door for you to get out. The headlights are off, and as your eyes adjust to the darkness you see that you are looking down on the sprawling nightlife of the city below. The view is beautiful, the air is crisp and cool, and you move a little closer to him to keep warm. He spreads out a blanket and you both furl up in it and watch the stars while whispering things to each other and kissing. Then after what seems like a second but should have been eternity, he sits up and looks at you. “time to go?” you ask. “Not yet, there’s just one more things I would like to do,” he says. “What’s that,” you ask, sitting up with him. He pulls his hand out of his pocket and gently takes hold of your left hand, before you could do anything, he places the ring on your finger. “Will you marry me,” he asks in a voice so full of emotion that alone is almost enough to make you cry. As you get back into the car a few minutes later, you take one last look at the lights of the city below. Then you glance back to the road you drove down to get here. Just then a thought crosses your mind. Just then you realize that even when you cant tell where you came from, even when you don’t know where your going, no matter what, he will be by your side, forever. |

It's great, they might move it to prose though. "forever"... I love you, Bel |
