Your hidden in the shadows
I cannot see your face old friend
For the darkness wont allow

Step into the light old friend
Your looking scared and lost
Let the light grace you old friend
Let your heart defrost

Step though the ice old friend
You losing touch with me
My heart has warmth for you old friend
My heart can set you free

Come back to my life old friend
My hand is open for yours
Your welcome in my life old friend
But my plea you cant ignore

Cant you see the light old friend
For it is not yet too late
Just reach for the light old friend
Just take my hand to conquer fate

Your slipping farther down old friend
I cannot reach your hand
the darkness is edging closer old friend
Im sorry, but alone we stand

Your welcome anytime old friend
Just call when you need me
But look around your life old friend
For in darkness, who can truly see?
For Emily, may you see the light in your life, for your slipping away, and I cannot see you to save you, to catch you, to grab yur hand through the darkness ...

This poem was really nice. I know who it feels to have a friend slip away. I'm not sure why or how your friend is sliping away but i can understand where your coming from. I hope you don't lose your friend.

This sounds like it was written for my friend Emily, except in a different perspective than you were intending. Her actual life is slipping away, not just spirit. I hope your friend realizes you care so much...great poem

I feel like this was written for my friend Christine whose life, like gracianna's friend emily is slipping away too as well as her spirit..i just cant seem to lift her out of her depression and her life destroying habits...::hugs:: i hope atleast your friend takes your hand...she's lucky to have you
