This one is dedicated to my uncle, who lost his life at the trade center attack. Towers of strength United we stand. Leaders of evil Malice they planned. They used for their bombs Signs of our nation. American and United To show their frustration. They trained in our schools And each flew a plane. They lived in our cities And seemed quite mundane. At a quarter to nine The North tower was struck. The tourists just thought That it was tough luck. At three after nine The South tower was hit. By then everyone knew That it was deliberate. At twenty 'till ten The Pentagon was hit. The Firemen and police Rushed to do their bit. Another tragedy Still yet to come. Hundreds saved for a price- Of sixty four and one. Little by little Our anger ebbs away. And we mourn for those we lost On that terrible day. The rubble is there A massive grey grave. A monument of memory For those we couldn't save. We're thankful for the plan That they were unable to complete. We're thankful for the living Who survived a terrible feat. They tried to dent our country. They tried to stop our trade. They tried to carry out their plan But heros came to our aid. President Bush, who eased our minds, Emergency workers galore. Millions helped with their money, And thousands helped with much more. The flags are raised high, Standing straight and tall, all the people say: God bless our brave people, God bless the USA! I give a whole new meaning to the word 'sad.' |

Wow, excellent poem, and Im very sorry about your Uncle. He will be remembered forever. September 11 showed us what true sadness was but it showed us what true glory was. You did an excellent job of expressing that. I look foward to reading more ~LCBS Exeryone makes mistake, learn from them and move on, because tomorrow we'll make more... |

I don't even know where to start. Anytime I begin to talk about the sept 11 events i end up rambling on and on because i get so worked up about it. Just know that your uncle is a hero and no one is ever going to forget that day. This was a very well written tribute to him and all the people who died and to the country in general. Beautiful poem. The day you were born, you were born free |

Very well done. It upholds the memory of the heroe's very well and keeps the spirit of America high. ![]() I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

woah, this was really really good, gracianna, last week I flew home from Vancouver to Toronto and I had a stop over in New Jersey. When we took off again, it was the first time I'd seen the city without the towers there, and I just got such a sick feeling. All your neighbours to the north have been with you since it happened, and will always be...(even if our military isn't ![]() |
