Commonplace of Lies fearing the burning emptiness of tragedy within i give myselfto the caress of many mortal sins you rage in my ears cacphoniacally yet i fear you not you may cause my loneliness but for your sins you will rot i answer only for myself not for the ancestral rage of yore spinning a tale that's meaningless a mindless heartless lord danger rising up from depths hidden behind thine eyes i grow weary of your fables your commonplace of lies weary now i cannot break free you draw me nigher still i the fly and you the spider pouncing on the kill If life's a stage |
