Ok this is just a different view point and not exactly do I express these feelings..it has nothing to do with me:P But Valentine's day does dishearten me.. Chocolate covered promises Diamond laced eyes I'm not sure if I can survive Another lonely Valentine's I've lost people along the way And I'm quite sure they shine down upon me As it rains Within my heart But not to have them near me Just isn't quite the same When it's a knife that cuts deep within my heart When I hear people recite that "Roses are red" I wonder how they can be red? Shouldn't my tears Have washed away that awful commercialized colour? And you have would thought That all of the sweets in the world Would have turned acetose When tainted by the stench of ghosts.. |

"Chocolate covered promises Diamond laced eyes" Bears containing hidden motives Roses with concealed thorns Empty hugs and shallow kisses leave a pair of lovers torn A day made for Hallmark to sell last minute cards That might be saved forever or might end up in shards This day is meant to celebrate St. Valentines Death But instead is a famous day for red roses and babies breath Great Poem...Scorned Lovers Unite...Boycott VDAY! ~LCBS |

Nice poem. I think I might have to diss agree with some of you on the V-Day issue. It might be because I'm so blinded by love right now that I think that V day is a very good day to get something to try to show your love for someone. I love V day because my girl can't yell at me so much for getting her something to try to show my love for her because it's a holiday and It's my nature to get something for at lest one person on every holiday such as this. Like I said it could be just because I'm blinded by love. Once I get burned I'll probably see it like you guys here do but that won't be for a really long time. Thanks for the poem!! ~Dan |
