“Reflections Within A Tear”

The darkness settles in
As I sit beneath the sky
Upon a stony path spiraling down
As it juts in to my spine

Laughter is heard
I open my eyes remembering
That I am at a party
With many people
Yet I am alone none the less

The fire burns high
I reminisce, thinking back
To you
And how much like that fire I was
And am
Soaring up to the heavens
Proclaiming all glory
For life had truly begun
In your arms
But as the fire I did perish
The fire drowned out with no air
And I with out your love

Gazing up at the sky
I search for the stars
So that I may wish
But alas
None seek to find me
Nor my heart worthy of any wishes
So search my heart and pray
That we shall be reunited again
One day

Anger at myself
For holding on so long
As the pain builds up
Threatening to destroy me
I walk
To clear my mind
And set myself strait
My problem lie not with holding on
But in fear of letting go
For then I will have nothing
But a faded memory of the one I love
But force myself
Against my heart
To forget
But it shall not happen
You will be in my heart forever
I will not let go
Nor take any other
You are my love
Whether or not you are with me

Joyous faces and happy smiles
Despite my somber façade
I want to cry
But I will hold it back
Show myself strong
Though to look in to my eyes
Within their bluish hue
One can see the tears
I hold on to for you

Daylight comes
To find me stiff and sore
Isolation sent me to my place
Upon the rising stairs
Far from those who want me close
For all I can do is dream of you
Within waking life and slumber
I find it never ending
This winding path
Of sorrowful joy

Grinning weakly
I close my eyes for a moment
Seeing us as we once were
And a single tear
Falls down my cheek
Within it reflecting
A thousand memories
Never to be forgotten
Nor to fade with time
Because even though
The stars do hide
As the shadows play
Upon the midnight sky
As I find myself lost
Within feelings of confusion,
Anger, and despair
Reflected within
That single tear
Showing me without thought
How much  I love you

It's too bad I'm not as wonderful a person as people say I am, because the world could use a few people like that.

You are on a roll today!  This was also a wonderful poem.  The title really caught my eye, and I am glad, b/c I would have missed a beautiful poem.  Great job!

This was beautiful...you spill out your emotions so purely and honestly... "keep them coming"... I hate saying that because it's such a common thing to say but I mean it.

Be kind, be true, be bold, be you.

Nicely done here Lonewolf.....you ARE on a roll. hehe......I liked this one a lot.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

Oooo...this one rocks! You should seriously consider showing her some of these. They are great!
