You said that we would always be together That we were stronger than the evil around us But thats not what happened You said that you would be back That when you got back it would be ok But thats not what happened You said you would always be there for us That nothing could take you from us But thats not what happened I remember that day You came to us that morning You said that you would be back Told us to stay and wait How was I supposed to know That when you hugged and kissed me It would be the last time I would touch you How was I supposed to know That when you told me you loved me It would be the last time I would hear your voice How was I supposed to know That when I looked into your eyes It would be the last time I would see them See them alive The messenger came that night He handed me a feather from your wing Said that you said "I love you and I'm sorry" With your last breath Why did this have to happen? Why were you taken from us? Why did it have to be you? Why did you have to fall in such a foolish way?
