Ladies weep and soldiers cheer, What’s it worth if children fear The very thing we all hold dear? “Kill them all!” I’ve heard them cry, Nevermind how many die, “Nuke ‘em all, let’s watch ‘em fry!” I feel dark times are growing nigh. Silent tears are loudly shed, Gone unheeded as we fled, All dressed up with silk and thread What’s it worth if we’re all dead? Walls of stone and walls of clay, Each’ll fall to disarray, What’s it worth to win the day When our own kids we lead astray? -------------------------- Just one I came up with moderately quick..I'm not satisfied with the ending..I think it needs another stanza or something...but my poetic reserves are sapped at the moment. Might work on it later. -Adam |

Adam, there is so much I could say to the topic, but that isn't the point......the point is the poem, and I think you did a good job. ![]() |

![]() You said it buddy and definitely couldn't have done it better! This is exactly what I am thinking too. Wowsers...really well done. You've pinned those thoughts perfectly and the flow on this was bloody fantastic! ![]() Killer job! ![]() ~AF~ "Hi there, can I relay a sonnet your way?" |
