When I Sleep As I watch the tides roll in and out again The clouds on a backdrop of a star lit sky Out lined by the occasional flash of lightning I hear the wind let out a low-keyed sigh I think of the times we had when we were together Even the “bad” times were marvelous I think of the time you wore the skirt of leather With nothing on under it ~ it is still one of the best times The time we spent talking on the phone till the wee hours We acted like the whole world was ours The first time we made love Was sweet and slow making us feel like we were floating on the clouds above But the time came for the us to end To a mind altering hell it did send My heart broke and turned cold in a split second I lost my one love But I found something even better that a lover Even though my mind said to run for cover My heart said no don’t go Besides where in blazes do you have to go So I stayed around Something precious I found What I found was a friend With a love with no end I thank God for the times we had Even though it still makes me sad I have found something better Right down to the final letter I found a friend in you With you as a friend I will never be blue But I want to tell you A special secret if you can keep it to yourself You are gone in the daylight Which is not bad The nice thing is at night When I go to bed We still make love When I sleep You will always be in my dreams I just wish I could sleep all day Icyheart May 2001 |

I do sleep all day and it isn't what it's cracked up to be...staying up at night is nice though. |
