Lovely is ...first rose of spring, beauteous bloom ...of nature's bring, From frailest stem ...thou wond'rous form, blossoms 'neath, ...Lord Helios' warm, Filling with ...thy fragrant scent, as nature's jewel ...from heaven sent, Within thy petals, ...secrets borne, protected by ...thy piercing thorn, As God above ...on us bestows, Perfection of ...springtime's first rose. Mike~ 'Perfection of ...springtime's first rose.' This is perfection. A fragrantly sweet offering. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Wow, this is just written for me, thank you. The first rose in my garden to bloom is the Canary Bird, a wild Chinese rose, than comes Pimpinellifolia and after that all the other over 200 roses begin. In a few weeks it's paradise, and they all smell, by that time I feel like I'm in heaven. So thank you dearly for your poem. Titia |
