Frilled words that seek to ornament
why must you always interfere ?
To spill my guts was my intent
so let me make just one thing clear .

I do not relish baubled phrase ,
profess no love of wordy flights ,
though write as if were all the rage ,
perplexed , I blame you for this plight .

Insinuating nuance to
plain paper words that I would speak .
It seems no matter what I do
the end result is tongue in cheek .

It's madness I purport , and pray ,
nay vow , that I shall overcome !
To Jabberwocks I'll not fall prey ,
nor Tweedle-Dee or Tweedle-Dum !

For there is much I wish to say ,
without you getting in my way !

Oh how the words do love you. They compliment all that you have to say.

And oh, my, if our words don't get in the way of our relationships, our tongues get in front of our eye-teeth and we can't see what we're saying.  Not an original thought, here, on my part.

Enjoyed reading your poem.

DrMoose~

Oh .. fiddle-faddle
Words that play
Some that up
and scamper away ...
If upon a page of blue
you happen upon
a slew of mine too
PLEASE ... whip a quip
of self-same glee
and send the rascals
back to ME ! !

Now look what you've done !
I'll probably not find a sane thought this night !

LOVED this jocular moment !

Alison,
Thanks for dredging this one up. "Nay"?, not too much anymore, but oh for the days
when I could get words to listen to me.

sandgrain (Rae),
Thanks, it's not often someone goes tip-toeing around the archives and picks one of mine out. This one I really enjoyed writing, and seeing again for a variety of reasons. First in mind would be Marges' poetic reply, unfortunately, another friend I never got the chance to meet. The fact that there are people who have picked up on the humor that I have tried to bring here while being somewhat of a self styled recluse has made all the difference in the world to me. I thank Ron for making it possible, and all of you for putting up with me.
Doc

Sunshine,
Please see above, I think you know how I feel about this place. Thanks again.
