Timeless assurances wrought hold little light
To the sting of mourning hearts...
Promise rainbows left to embrace are of less significance
Than the present anguish...

Where is the intensity of the first light?
Why has the beauty of morning faded?
How could a sunset be more compelling than these cries?
What is the sense in another beginning?

Timeless assurances wrought mean everything
To the healing of mourning hearts...
Promise rainbows left to embrace are cherished more
Than the sorrow of this present moment...

The intensity of first light is in the eye of the departed...
The beauty of morning rises in the hearts of the beloved...
A sunset lasts just long enough to carve hope out of frozen tears...
Many more beginnings rely on the comfort of infinity’s oath...

-kh 07/09/01

it was love that first drew me,
it is love that will keep me here...
now I see love burning brightly
when everything else is unclear...

as someone who has spent the last year and a half keeping butterfly promises...
this poem touches me in places deep, and reminds me of the reasons and the promised seasons...

Precious rhythm you are my guide

How absolutely beautiful, and your words touched me this evening.  I especially loved these lines:

A sunset lasts just long enough to carve hope out of frozen tears...
Many more beginnings rely on the comfort of infinity’s oath...

I shall read this tonight to someone very special, and thank you.

If I made you smile today then I did my job!
