Why do you
Dance with the ghost
Of who I was?

We all came
From where we
Were, but changed
Along the way.

Our double imaged
Shadows created
To hide the inner soul
From those that look
(but not too closely)
conceals nothing
from caring eyes.

Why do you dance
With empty illusions?
Open your eyes
And dance with me.

I could easily say don't pick a partner with eyes wide shut, but I will not, for this has too much weight to have a humorous light cast over...
