     Along the Shallow

Can I walk with you along the shallow
before the road curves

I would hold your hand
and breathe comfort with my fingers
entwined in the ache of you

Perhaps you would know me
by the meaning of my being there
for I have no words

You have seen the sky ink up
and have lost so many stars
to the candle flickering

I cannot hear you
for even now you are becoming memory
laced with what my heart holds still

Can I walk with you along the shallow
before the road curves

Such softness and beauty Martie....your words always evoke strong emotion and images in my head. You have great talent, dear one.

this touches me in places so deep...
this is written so whisper soft and tender in its longing
So much expressed in so few perfect words
How do you do this...and you do it time and time again.

Lovely words from a lovely lady, Martie.
Bill always spoke about your poetry and how wonderful he thought you wrote. And as someone above has written...you do it time and time again....
