SYNCOPATION We stood in a concert line just the other day, proceeding slowly to the ticket booth... we didn’t have much to say. It wasn’t that we were at odds or anything, just one of those times when being close was song enough for the heart to sing. I watched her standing there so poised, beautiful, a world to me, and wanted to shout, to lay my soul bare, so everyone there would know what she means to me. She smiled, moved closer, as if she’d heard these thoughts of mine, and my heart played rhythm’s only love could know when she squeezed my hand and said “ I love you so”. w. james beard, jr © July 2001 [This message has been edited by jwesley (edited 07-08-2001).] |

Strange how love can captivate one's being where all that is experienced is the one that you love.... your expression for the emotions felt seem so real. Your poem made me feel as if I was right there. |
