It’s Really Been Fun, 5/24/01 Would you give me five minutes, to give you the reasons- That you shouldn’t leave me behind? We’ve followed the circuit for nearly twelve seasons, And fate hasn’t treated us kind. You drove when I couldn’t, from bones that were healing- So often that I just lost count... I can’t understand all the doubts you are feeling, Nor why you are “turning me out”. “Are you a real cowboy”? is how it all started- But that was a long time ago. They all tried to warn you, that I was hard-hearted... A slave to the Pro Rodeo. We’ve farmed out the kids to our in-laws and outlaws... Till they hardly know who we are. But still I must tell you that I really love you, I fear that won’t get me too far. Well, I’ve raked my brain, for a reason for staying- And so far I haven’t found one.
