Another day of traveling, Another night alone, The closest that I’ve been to you Is on the telephone. My heart has started sinking, And feels just like a stone, From missing you From some where in my memory, Locked up in my brain, The symphony of what we are, Plays itself again, I let the simple melody, Take away the pain, Of missing you The echo of the notes we wrote, Sing a sweet refrain, As I close my eyes and picture you, Holding me again. Filling up the emptiness That’s driving me insane, From missing you Another day of traveling, Another day alone, The closest that I’ve been to you Is on the telephone, My heart has started aching, And feels just like a stone, From missing you. |

Amazing what even one's voice over a line of cord, and across the miles, can do to one's heart.... well done, and a verified keeper.... |

It's never easy to be away from the one you love. So well said. May you see them soon. All writing comes |

I have gestated this feeling many-a-time, Ron. Sometimes memory is all we have, want, and need, and sometimes it can be a haunting, clutching wraith of decisions made and paths chosen... Thanks for another well-crafted moment of emotion. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

You do have a way with words, Ron. Why not set this to music? |

Hey, CP - great flow, and a sentiment shared by a lot of us. Nice form breaks in there, too. |

I really enjoyed reading this and I think Interloper is right, you need to put this one to music! Cindi God is our inspiration; Words of the heart can be music to our ears |

Lovely, should be stamped inside every Gideon. Naw maybe on the room service menu then it's sure to be read. "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve" |

How hauntingly sad...And yet there's hope, for if you've talked on the telephone you should see them again. This one will stay with me for a long time. Very, very good! |

Thanks to everyone for their responses!!! This was written with the idea of it being set to music..something along the lines of the tune "Turn the Page" In any case.. I am not musically inclined nor would you want to hear me try and sing this..( laughing) I do greatly appreciate your taking the time to read and comment!!!! |
