Distant Drums Oh how I miss my little Jeremiah. My little boy blue. My middle son. The one that packed his bags to run. Why must he be so far from me? I was thinking of him this morning for awhile. My thoughts of him brought me a happy smile I had thoughts of him when he was my little boy. Then sadness set in for he is a boy no more. Years have ran. My son has grown up and become a man. Kids grow up so quick to my surprise. Sorry it couldn't be right before my eyes. He went to Germany my middle son and served in Albania around mines and guns. He drove Volkswagons and kissed frauleins galore and played his drums wildly on distant shores. I ran from my Dad. I was his oldest son. He made me mad I had to go on. And now Jeremiah has gone his way. Will I ever see him again? I wonder when. JamesLee@July01,2001 |

Sad, brings memories of my oldest when he ran cause we didn't see things the same. Why does growing up have to be so hard for some? |

Someday, my friend, he shall return to you. Letting go and watching them leave is never easy, but he must follow his own path as you have followed yours. May your paths meet again. All writing comes by the grace of God. -Ralph Waldo Emerson [This message has been edited by Lone Wolf (edited 07-01-2001).] |

JamesMichael~ Lovely expression of sentiment. You will hear his drums again ... I'm just sure of it. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

My kids are still little, and I can only imagine the pain of letting go. But it's part of life. The best thing to do is to keep communicating. Good luck. Well expressed. |

I thank each one of you for your kind response...my son Jeremiah is in Texas now and has approximately one year left to serve in the Army...he also plays his drums in a local band...James |

My son Jeremiah gets out of the Army in July...just four short months away...he just got accepted into the Art Institute in Santa Ana and starts in October...he seems very happy...I'll probably see him sometime between August and September...James |
