Sunset again fades The crimson colors of day To sepia and grey… [You left today] Glorious colors Fill the sky's canvas With watercolor strokes [Nothing seems the same] Heat from the day Rises in wavering sheets Replaced by evening cool [I can only paint the image] Gloaming … Fall into dark soon… As night's influence grows On this landscape [The feelings have no color] |

... for feelings have bled along this day all the crimson has gone gray all the blue has lost sheen, hue and all that's left is very dark... all that's left is one heart, stark oops. You started it...not that it needed finishing, but your muse just strummed a note to mine... thank you for this! |

"[I can only paint the image] Gloaming … Fall into dark soon… As night's influence grows On this landscape [The feelings have no color]" Very interesting emotions playing through these lines...well done! |

Ron, this took a couple of reads to begin to sink in, but I love the unique contrasts between the vivid and colorful portrayal of the sunset with the bleak and colorless void felt of abscence. Great title, too. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

Sea... thank you... a very nice reply indeed! Et.. many thanks for the read and the nice words! VAS... priceless Mark.. Thanks for taking the time to read... and to comment. It was a play on the idea of viewing the close of day and how it might be captured to reflect the personal loss suffered. I also hoped it would reflect how theinternal and the external are effected by each other in some ways... |

This poem ignited a memory in my heart I had forgotten, and it too was a painting unfinished. I loved the title of your poem, and once again, first class, thank you. "Lose your temper and you lose a friend; lie and you lose yourself." |

Ah, you make me think that feelings have no color and I would argue with you that feelings/emotions are indeed colorful... or is that just an artist's poetic license to imagine so? Much food for thought, yet again... |

CPatHair~ Graceful strokes of imagery across a canvas of the heart. Very nicely done. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
