DEATH Awaits Me |

I woke one night trembling in fear, soaked in sweat, heart pounding in my throat. Before me, dressed in darkest shadow, with a wooden staff was DEATH. He stood beside my bed watching, as my heart raced even faster. I could barely breathe. “Your TIME grows short. I will return.” With those few words, he was gone. I raced from the bed and turned on every light in the house. Come morning, I began to convince myself that it was only a very vivid nightmare. Two nights later I awoke with a tightness in my chest. It was hard to breathe. I called 911 and was rushed to the hospital with a heart attack. While in intensive care my heart stopped. Upon reviving me DEATH again came to visit. Angry and scowling he took his staff and began fiercely beating me, having felt cheated that the medical team was able to bring me back from death. My racing heart set off alarms and the medical team was again surrounding me, checking monitors and and sensors attached to my chest. DEATH had once again left, but not without leaving me with the words, “Your TIME grows short. I will return.” |
