As small as a thimble
Or as big as me
She’s one of the Fair folk
Living ‘neath the oak tree

She can change in a blink
Her color of size
Why she can even change
The shape of her eyes

A beautiful young lady
Or an ugly old hag
In fine ‘raiment
Or dressed in old rags

As adults we forget
That she’s even there
But the wee ones remember
Each night in their prayers

For she’s Magic and Sunlight
She shimmers and glows
After all she’s immortal
She’s a Faerie you know.

I feel like I've dropped into Ireland and taried along a path of childhood, someone's childhood for I've never been off this continent, save for a week in Hawaii.
