Make Me a Memory

Dream me a fantasy, write me a tale
Fly me to clouds on a white feathered sail
Flutter a butterfly yellow and red
Paint me a memory to etch in my head

Snow me a blanket of white crystal ice
Bake me aromas of cinnamon spice
Warm me a fire when the sun has gone down
Sleep me a dream wrapped in pillows of down

Sail me on oceans of powerful tides
Swirl me in whirlpools in roundabout rides
Dare me adventure upon the blue sea
Make me a memory of wind blowing free

Mold me a garden that sparkles in dews
Spatter the petals in bright pinks and blues
Rain me a drizzle to feed them with wet
Delight me a garden that I’ll not forget

Dream me a love who is honest and true
Wrap me in pleasure the way that you do
Heat me in passion with words from your pen
Kiss me a memory of love once again

Cry me a tear from the pits of my soul
Laugh me a giggle and reach me a goal
Wonder my mind at the wisdom you write
Make me a memory, dear poet, tonight

Elizabeth you'll always be a memory in evryone's mind I'm sure!  This is so well balanced a poem with meter, rhyme and rythum. It's just a delight to read and as always your choice words and line arrangement are so very clever.

Wonderful poetry!! You're the present and a memory in my mind!

I don't think I could respond better than ethome, so let me echo his words.  I will say the lyrical nature of this was elevating.

Dear Liz - I love your poetry so much.  I'll try to respond as only a rascally Long Jong could - please forgive me.

I'll make you a memory you'll never forget,
Something about cats in a bag, soaking wet.
Or perhaps I'll remind you I'm not Balladeer
When the next time we meet and I lick your ear.

There!  How's that? - heh  - now, here's a huge hug for a wonderfully talented person.

I always feel like I have been handed a poetic gift from you, and each one is more beautiful than the last.  This is no exception, and I will say once again, you truly are gifted!

if I were to make you a memory
it would definitely be one that
would live forever in time
a story that would be told and retold
to generation after generation
so that you would live for eternity

*sigh*. . . isn't this what we all want??

wonderful Liz. . .
