Listening to every heart

Honor me

little ways
say a lot
what is gained
what is lost

honor me
says the man
who holds a cup
in his hand
30’s came
30’s went
some not a nickel
to be spent

little ways
say a lot
what is gained
what is lost

honor me
says the vet
who fought the war
flew the jet
60’s came
60’s went
some came home
some can’t vent

little ways
say a lot
what is gained
what is lost

honor me
says the wife
give and take
it’s for life
time it comes
time it goes
don’t know how
but keep the vow

little ways
say a lot
what is gained
what is lost

honor me
say the ill
hear my words
before the will
time it comes
time it goes
with great obey
hear my say

little ways
say a lot
what is gained
is what remains

Very much enjoyed the poem.  A little honor goes such a long way.  It is truly what remains.  Such a fine poem.  Roger

I'm with suthern on this - I see so much in this.  It makes me sad in some ways.  Well written, Sunshine.
