I at first
did seek shade and rest
from glaring day
but upon time
and passing jest
I in turn
wished to brave
desert sands,
and feel the burn
of sun and thirst
Alas, to find the roots
Had grown as I had slept
And now it is with
You I’m kept.
Still the shade does cool
And protects me from
The start
But nothing now it seems
Protects this gentle heart.

That, I think is what we must guard against in any "good" relationship.

Well done ... damn you are good!

Kit.. many, many thanks for the words.. they are appreciated

Sunshine: it is with thought we grow... I do hope you enjoyed.

Interloper: You are far far too kind... I am just a hack..who plays with words and images... but I do so thank you for your interest and many comments.
