Her untossed glassy sea is of despair,
no oar nor have sagged sails assist of air,
unseen anguished anchor holds her there,
as far as she can see I solely care.

Knows not what fate her children for nine weeks,
entrusted her crazed mother who won't speak,
slowly hope, her vessel, springs a leak,
legalities leviathonic labyrinth is bleak.

We write, she calls, I visit though time they limit,
the unindicted halls of justice skim it,
depress'd sea we share yet I swim it,
I swore not to abandon, time won't dim it.

This morning she had pain within her eyes,
through unspoken words I heard her cries,
crowded, sleepless, racist threats terrorize,
no rehabilitation, no sun, no exercise.

Blaring TV's inane content controlled by gangs,
tries to read and sleep yet madness hangs,
I work hard to encourage her smiling twang,
it works, we say goodbye, the damn door clangs.

Stay afloat dear Jacqueline, stay afloat,
I promise that I'll man your lifeboat,
ignore my own dire straights to you devote,
in time persist to shrink this sea to moat.

Remember always to tie a knot at the end of your rope ... the better on which to hold.

Send her a hug from me, and this is truly sad indeed. My heart goes out to her and also to her children.  Keep all these poems, she will treasure them eventually.  Well done.
