I don’t say this here to hurt you
But love will soon desert you
The play of love is tragic
It dies from loss of magic
The twinkle in the eye of one in love

My star that shines forever
I hang when we’re together
But who will hold
This fire inside my heart

You are never with me
When I’m feeling e’er so gray
Your star is shining somewhere
But what good is yesterday

My heart is in its sections
Stage left and then be fast
Each one you hold directions
Why love will never last

I pump you like my blood
In-and-out and it’s good
And then I know you,
As the fire inside my heart

Sometimes it pumps in passion
Sometimes it pumps in ire
But every time it weakens
The chance it’s love’s desire

I don’t say this here to grieve you
One day I know I’ll leave you
The play of love is tragic
It dies from loss of magic
And my heart is weakened
Like it’s ne’er before

Say this and nothing more

…that this will never happen
my love for you is strong
and I shall never leave you
for would prove that I was wrong
