This was written for a friend that went through a terrible break-up and suffered terribly....and I couldn't get away from the negative although my heart went out to him because of the pain he was experiencing....?

OUR OWN SMALL VOICE

Friable imposters love and virtue always leaving,
like water drying up in a weed choked ditch,
Our own small voice left to dirty lodgings.
Once we were dedicated to the ribbon at the finish line.
Faultlessly prepared,
bold in bearing,
fueled with pride,
hunters unfeigned with prowess like young argonauts,
in quest of romantic fleece.

Outwardly then, our nature can change and be callous,
insensible, utterly disparaging, discernably hard.
Chords rusted, hiding from being struck again.
Feelings left for dead in broken miserable breasts.
No more moonlit strolls,
fireside philosophy,
snug fast homefront.
We speak to others disguised from our own small voice,
with passionless white lips comporting.

Melancholy shades of life these,
no love, no virtue, not sharing from our own small voice.

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Oh, ethome, you can feel the pain come right through the words and grab you.  Haunting work.  You have captured those feelings well.  I hope this helped your friend.  It's never easy to go through such a thing.  Give him my best.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

Ethome...you know your friend very well.  Unfortunately, it can happen just like this.

Give him our hope...

you have our best...

Unfortunately, this is what the heart does to protect itself after such hurt...excellent expression of these feelings, ethome...I love it...

Everything gotta change around me
I’d tell it to your face,
But you lost your face along the way...

Our own small voice, lost in the din of dark despair and admittedly more melodious when a duet. Thank you.

A small voice is intriguingly powerful in this poignant piece. Your writing is superb

PT, this is haunting in its pain, and quite awesomely written. Sometimes when you write it's like starlight, sometimes its moonbeams, and sometimes like this its the crystalline of ice. Sharp and clear and achingly sad.

Excellent writing as always love, your friend is so lucky to have you. PT YOU are absolutely fabulous, give your friend our love, and some of your hope.

Take care
love as always
