Woman in Love From womb to light, from child’s delight To woman’s longing in the night A star gave birth, then twinkling wish And now is witness to a kiss A girl looks through a woman’s eyes That flash like fire in midnight skies A destined footpath has been lost And once forbidden bridges crossed Now all the days are yellow suns To all the nights the heart succumbs The world has changed and life itself Is longing to repeat itself What power has love’s entrancing spell That would consume a heart so well She walks in silken gown of white Along a dreamer’s edge of night Her sheets are breezes passing by Her coverlet, a starry sky Elizabeth Santos |
