Silent Pain

Pain, confusion, wondering why
Tears of pain cried in the night
Hold you close while you sleep
No walls to stop me, wispers go deep

Morning greetings, well wishings for the day
Knowing exactly where this day you'll play
Holding back the screams of pain
Useless, only cause fights and disdane

Can't look anymore, my eyes see too much
Block it all out, the scents and such
The time spent away, Never ask why
For I already know the truth
To hear you say it, I would surely die

Walls go up for survival sake
Knowing time will take care of fate
Promotions at work, work myself to the bone
Not for the company
So I can sleep when I return home

Whats this, I see you looking at me
I wonder what your thinking, what you see
Why now...Whats different...Have I changed somehow
Do I seem more interesting now

No more tears or swollen eyes
Have I learned no matter what I can survive
Is this what you see in me now
Independant like I once was, grown up, How?

Independance maybe, more like guts
Survival in this silent war and not go nuts
Hardest thing I've ever been through
All the while you thinking I never knew

I'll never understand
I'll never know why
But the scents are gone
At night I don't cry

across the land of dreams. In your heart, I'd always be.

=================

A touching poem..........
At times, we see just too too much and we'd wish for a lesser vision or insight.

Thank you

...the silence of your pain screams out in your words...I oft wonder which is the worse...believing or not believing...this speaks volumes...

Ouch.  I understand and empathize as well as sympathize through my own experience.  I find some solace in the concept:  "Focus on the details;  the Big Picture will take care of itself"...
