Listening to every heart

Pearl Harbor

come this falling light, ‘twas swiftly bereft
as in crept solemn dark, and I was left
to deal, surreal, with the lone ghost of you
I needed moonlight, a window with view

drew into my warm lungs clear, cold, clean air
yet your ghost came, held your head in despair
your eyes pierced my heart, for you I still long
war took you quick; you, to me, still belong

battle fought, red crested straight from your breast
having given all, you had stood your test
you had cheered for glory, and it is nigh
you had flown your heart, victory flies high

good lives were lost, though peace came to our time
you gave yours for us, I still give you mine

The paid a very high price for our freedom and should be remembered with honor and glory.  Wonderful, Sunshine.

Saw "Pearl Harbor" this weekend....if you haven't seen it, do so, and Men?  Take the hankies because if YOU don't need them, your ladyfriend will.

Thank you for your comments!

I enjoyed this.  Any positive recognition given to our military is something I greatly appreciate.  My father was in the navy, though not stationed at Pearl, thank goodness.

Fitting trubute to men and history. Probably no other event change the American outlook on safety and prestige the way the attack on Pearl Harbor did.

Kari dearest sister, Oh this is wonderful, truly wonderful. I haven't been to see it, I'm confiined to barracks, but when I stop being I will.

I'm still sans voice but I can write, and read, what MORE,/b> could I want.

Take care
love as always
