Just once a year is all and I render to my father wishes well small gifts is all like so many holidays I flee its path this is one you cannot run from pervades the hopes decisions comprimises rends in its reminding quicken the day that I may escape choices made but you never escape babies children everywhere each day is fathers day for those of us not and no time heals nothing merely deepens the tears of omission what was lost career wife giving away future for what and pardon ex-wife as each year passes humbling me in my irreperable mistakes it sinks, as I just a little futher, So all you dads with breakfasts tools, ties and this one day set aside remember every day is Fathers Day Yes the grass is always greener on the other side but I count my compositions and words music painting as my children what else is there in a world void forever of the crys and laughter which bring life a smile to all you fathers, as I wrap my dad's present tonight and wonder for the ten thousandth time what that must be like cheers to you all and many silly ties [This message has been edited by Eye (edited 06-17-2001).] |

Well written and I appreciate your kind thoughts! The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up |

Eye...thank you. You have shown me just how fortunate I truly am, to have known a dad, 24/7, for all of my life. |

Sad one, Eye. Someday maybe it will be you receiving the gifts. You never know. All writing comes |
