What are you doing to my earth Every generation seems to want to destroy More than the last carried off in natures hearse Death where there once was great joy The rivers..streams..creeks ran cold and clear Started in the mountains or glacers so pure Then they added chemicals to the air..land..water, don't fear We can add more, maybe even the cure The land, some flat, hills, valleys,and mountains Others barren ready for plow and seed or forest never ending So you cut all the forest, the land no longer held for rain and wind No problem, make mountain to quarry or pit, who needs them The air so crystal clear and you can see forever Smell the flowers..earth..growing things..see them in splender Then you filled the skies with smoke and things never Should have been made, sickening every living thing, every gender Quick make something to counteract the poisons you Put into land..water..air, stronger than before You may even be able to clean some, but others just fool So much you have killed, dead to the very core Are you proud of the work you for generations have done When do you plan to try and undo or even repair the damage Will we ever be able to see for miles..hear the quiet..feel the sun This earth is old..tired..please hope there's time for repairs to be made Mother's are known to forgive their children again and again I'm sure Mother Earth is no different as tears fall like rain Another chance to repent make things as they had been Help clean up this earth..stop the damage..heal the pain |
