She caught me watching her, with the same ease a coyote who is wary of traps avoids stepping into one, As she worked on George’s old Dodge. Just sitting, the cold beer can wet in my hand, Wondering if she was Going to want To go dancing Tonight. She crawled out From under the front Of that old Dodge Where she had been Laying for sometime, I watched Her hips wiggle As she scooted free Wiping the grease Off her wrench She walked towards me And took my beer. “Thirsty?” I asked she took a deep swallow, “Not now” She said. Then looking at me With eyes That would melt 2 inch steel plate She asked, “You ever Learn to Dance?” [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (edited 06-15-2001).] |

I can feel the desire in what you write. My compliments on a job well done. Have you ever learned to dance? "We also know how cruel the truth often is, and we wonder whether delusion is not more consoling."- Henri Poincare (1854-1912) |

Southern Gothic is reborn? Does Flannery O'Connor's estate know? Damn, Ron... |
