...pilot jargon for practicing landings. Judah and Esther He had not known women; This prince of Hur; though heir to commerce That encompassed fleets trading fine perfumes To the voluptuous daughters of Rome, Never before Had scent enchained him. Nor had he drowned in the depths of eyes As black as almonds, naked in the sun When exchanged from his family's ships Plying water but recently smoothed By the thighs and calves of maidens Bathing in the Nile. Now, as he stood with another In the rooftop garden of his Jerusalem residence, He felt the transition From ruler to slave. RMW |

You may "touch and go" if you must, as long as you leave treasures in the dust.... |

Touching like a slave and going as a rich man....hummm lots of food for thought here! You write some very evocative work........I must leave you to your Bible now as I have to go to confession....I think....or maybe I'll stop at O'malley's Pub Thanks for the satire! The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up |

Wow... lovely biblical interpretation. "We also know how cruel the truth often is, and we wonder whether delusion is not more consoling."- Henri Poincare (1854-1912) |

Bob, you outdo (iz that a wurd?) yourself with every effort. I like it especially because Judah Ben Hur is one of my favorites |

A wonderful historical insight, Bob. Especially liked the way you tied it up at the end: He felt the transition From ruler to slave. Fabulous lines. I hope "touch and go" doesn't mean you're suddenly gone again! Cor |
