If not here...

I hear the rainfall in Washington
Makes their red apples shine.
The Autumns on Maine's Oaks
Are something so sublime.
I have to go to the heat of Texas
The Alamo I regretfully forgot.
Or travel to Florida's keys
It's said, they're pleasantly hot.
In Hawaii the volcanoes shoot,
A fiery beauty straight from hell.
In South Carolina the women are sweet,
There is nothing like a southern Belle.

Oh, I would travel from coast to coast.
To leave my broken heart behind.
This cruelest dream reality
Is never benevolent or kind.
So I yell and share why my heart bleeds,
And you have but one question for my tear-swollen eyes.
If not here, then where?

And I tell you time and time again
For better worse whatever
I would rather be in hell,
Anywhere but here.

It matters not where we go
for our hearts follow us
and though they may bleed
or break
in many new places

as if we never moved
Enjoyed the poem.... nicely written and the delivery is strong..

Yes, I agree...I can totally relate to this one. It's often lately that I'm feeling this way, as well...well, maybe, except for the 'I'd rather be in hell' part, but, that's just me...excellent write...
