Joy Hurts You were like an explosion of joy and I knew from the signs that gathered around me that to walk with you would change my direction for didn’t you tell me the way was treacherous Oh but I saw all those cantilevered feelings and I walked out into the air with them because you see joy is not something you feel every day I waltzed around on this slanted experience thinking barefoot thoughts and stripped feelings not caring how I slid further towards the edge carrying so much of me until my feelings like balloons lost the pull from the hand that held them and they all just drifted away I could see their bright colors now only specks that my vision tried to collect then when I looked down I had no foundation and I fell into the hurt of it And that's how I learned where joy should be found here in me not from you [This message has been edited by Martie (edited 06-07-2001).] |

So many, many familiarisms here, those words that are so cleverly and artfully gleaned from your pen.... and which bounced me around on your little balloon of joy.... this is a wonderful Write....a keeper.... |

Oh, Martie~ What a wise little penning. The joy in you ... floats ~ finding it's way to others ~ Love n' hugs~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

that to walk with you would change my direction for didn’t you tell me the way was treacherous ========================= I waltzed around on this slanted experience thinking barefoot thoughts and stripped feelings not caring how I slid further towards the edge carrying so much of me until my feelings like balloons lost the pull from the hand that held them and they all just drifted away ============================= then when I looked down I had no foundation and I fell into the hurt of it And that's how I learned where joy should be found here in me not from you ================================= *shaking my head* .... thats twice today you give me the words I need to hear... can you read my heart that easily ... thank you ... maybe someday I will do better at living the words and learning the lessons. she said I dont know why you ever would lie to me |

That your baloons didn't burst yet merely floated away shows me how beautiful the spirit behind the writer. Lovely... I do so look forward to reading your works. Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |

"Oh but I saw all those cantilevered feelings and I walked out into the air with them because you see joy is not something you feel every day" Amazing how insight can be thrown into the wind when feelings overcome. Great write Martie! |

Loved this one loads, my friend, Martie... and guess what it did to me... I stole your idea and came up with this... hope you like... I balanced upon the ledge Sliding my feet through the edge In careful steps of worrisome uncertain With trembling shakes of fear And then I walked ahead Hands clasped together In united arrest as if to reassure And my eyes waded past To see that there was no ledge Anymore Since there could be no balance Without the ledge, my surprised eyes Saw the anguish of distrust And the pain of discord And the fall taught me All about joy and the absence of it, How that should be born in my womb Instead of me owning a new father's expect And the reasoning of the 'if only' Regards to you, my friend, Sudhir |
