You’ve Got To “you’ve got to watch them in the front and back” at ninety-two she should know she’s seen the which way that they’d throw she’s seen the government go upside down she saw the horse bring the buggy to town she has a way in throwing her words and I’m careful for I’ve heard a colloquialism on her breath she was a Teacher, she stood the test! she thinks she’s ready to give her depart and she’s been known for her generous heart but she still has lessons to teach and she still has a prayer that would be preached she is a grand dame and a woman of soil she is a master of names and she still toils she is a keeper of fact and a blessing to all she is a woman of substance and in history stands tall she is simply, a woman of time she is young, though has hit her prime she is courage, and she is faith well given and for all of this she is ours, still living she has lost, and won and is fact, not fiction she’s a mother-in-law and never gives friction she’s a mother to him my friend, confidant she is a woman who has never said “can’t” “you’ve got to watch them in the front and back” and her words, I heed for she has great tact and heed them should you if you know what is right for she is an angel come morning, or night ~*~ dedicated to mine, and all the great mothers-in-law out there |

(sigh) Such a beautiful tribute to all the loving mothers-in-laws out there, who further dedicate the love and nurturement of familial ties and to youth worldwide. I am only 17, so I don't have a mother-in-law obviously, but I always imagine what it must feel like having another special person comfort me and inspire me with love. An inspiring tribute to yours and all the great mother-in-laws...you wrote of a witty woman with a back bone of steel...and so many more traits that seemed to have lost their way through the generations...a pity..Great writing from your quill Karilea~ |
