Snow Dragons… part II

"Dark Knight - The Dragon Slayer"

A dark rider comes, cresting the ridge from the Westlands
Clouds burning at his back, as if to announce a resurrection
Sending the veiled shadow of his steed across the valley
Murmurs spread on the wind as to this Dark knight's intention

Through the valley he journeyed, rode proud and free
Dusk lights revealing a face troubled from dreams long past
A tortured soul, beyond enduring the cruelties of life
A mind congealed, in search of some peace at last

Battle hardened and weary, he carried his people's banner
A people destroyed by a wandering hate, a renegade they said
A dragon! Wounded, Its mind ravaged by all that men could inflict
Came forth, a day of retribution, the day his people's land ran red

He'd laid that demon to rest on that desolate, blood soaked plain
No more to subsist unscathed! His family laid lifeless upon the earth
Wounded and weary, filled with such rage he set out to conquer his pain
Now seeks justice with the edge of his sword, a living death seeking rebirth

Noble he was til this tragedy befell, lost only child and beloved wife
A wanderer now, with a heart as black as the Demons he braved
A man tormented, unable to quench a soul that revenge left parched
Dragon Slayer now his craft, ever searching, naught afraid to wield his blade.

Forevernbluejeans ~ ya know the only trouble with doing something like this is that you have to keep going on, and on, and on   Glad you like this!

Mysteria ~ I guess I should have finished part 3 before posting the other 2 then, it will be up soon, I hope!

Kethry ~ writing this feels a bit like an epic too.   Thanks!
