Solid rock pools
Encompassed by rocks covered
with thick volumes of soft moss
Stairstep through trees
laden with heavy hanging moss and lichen
Shrubs, ferns and flowers
flourish in the steaming mist that cloaks
Reminiscent of Dragon’s Breath

The water that fills these pools
flows forth from lakes
Deep within the caverns of the earth
Where the Dragons sought refuge long ago.

The Dragons swim the lakes
heated by the molten core of the world.
Opaline scales of many hues litter the lake bottom
Along with gems and gold
which coalesce with minerals and ores
seeping into the water
from the subterranean scape.

This water will refresh the soul
Revive the spirit
Releave fatigue
And rejuvinate the body.

A very nice fantasy....

Wilt thou withstand the shock?
And share with him - the unforgiven-
His vulture and his rock?"

I love the scene you have described with the dragons in the water.  Nice writing!

I almost missed this gem, settled to the bottom coalescing with the others.

Is the water really that good?
