A candle, Shakespeare

Upon the write o’er
pen does creep
of Romeo and he
who keeps
the light of love
within his breast,
my dearest sir,
you need some rest…

I allow you, love
this quest you seek
and I arise as
sweet dawn peeks
to see you slumped
o’er the ponder
of quaint rhymes
o’er which you wander

did you think
that I not know
how this desire
within you grows?
how this ink thus
stains your hands?
how written word
your heart commands?

so, should you wake
in deep this night
when black is black
there seems no light
I leave for you
a candle’s gleam
that you might follow
this yellow beam
to one who would
wait for you

a candle, Shakespeare,
for heavens view.

If I should say no more than this...
it could mean no less ...

i wish i had wrote this

tis never easy being a moth,
tis not easy being the flame.
what some never see is--
sometimes ... most times ...
they are one in the same.

a lovely tribute to a masterful poet

and the sun drips honey."

Yanno - I can see her standing there telling him to go to bed as clear as day?  Now that is poetry, bravo!
