drip...
drip...
one little bit at a time
autoimmunity drips this pain
and that pain and
days and days
are in a fog, lost in
another drip.
and I found that car accidents
don’t just drip, they thunder
a torrential downpour while
a tornado wreaks havoc
in my memory.
the reason for my joy
I can no longer find.
…day by day
the essence of me
sloshes audibly
lower and lower.
my thirst is waning,
but still I cup my hands
trying to find my way
back to the used to be
me
drip...
drip...

serenity, thanks lady

IR....just love that sunshine   and yep I did need it...

PVD...I am trying to come out of it, but I find it better to let my muse have her way, she'll perk up pretty soon...well I hope so anyway....lol...guess being around me lately has been pretty depressing......sigh

I know I'm a bit biased, but I'd say being around you anytime is a blessing. *S*

I hate the pain that prompted this poem, but love the images... we so often think of the straw that broke the camel's back... but your cup overfloweth. *S* Very well done, dear friend... My applause and prayers are both yours. *S*

jellybeans.....A wonderful poem.....but the comments confirm the sadness. You use the word "joy". May I risk a definition? The dictionary of my experience was never complete until I arrived at the following:

Joy: The knowledge that it is not enough to know that God loves us. We must also be convinced that He is ....... near. Take care....or "TAKING CARE". Smiles.  Bob

Jellybean,
If I must drool I'll take jellybean every time. Your poem was not depression but pure expression. *L* Sy
