One fine day... |

One fine day the sun will shine And that one day I will be fine, Till then I will bide my time And wait for the bells to chime. And in the present now I am waiting with gathered wits of educated patience like a chess player contemplating the irony of the sixty four blocks of even and odd squares painted clearly in alternating black and white and the moves of inertia-afflicted sixteen 'men' -- who need to be moved by a force - eight common pawns and eight special ones, one of whom is King, who knows not that the power he has is given by his master, the player matching wits who is himself controlled by an more greater power which some call logic, and others chances of destiny - interspersed with moments of decisions -- and at the same time relatively existent to what his opponent, feels, thinks, plays and commits, who is also controlled by the same greater power of his individual logic or some roll of dice among the clouds of luck. In contemplation, I stand Awaiting patience's reward, Mindless of time's changing hands Awaiting my better cards. Yes, one beautiful day the dice would roll in my favour way above amongst the white cotton pods and then it will rain through the shining sun as if wanting to cleanse the dust in the sky and out would come a rainbow that would fill the sky with vibrant colours instead of the now present contrast of black and white. That's when the blind men will see The beauty of life to be, That's when the lilies will dance In life's newly given chance. (*!°) [This message has been edited by Sudhir Iyer (edited 05-17-2001).] |

Hey my buddy! Loved your chessboard analogy here, and the perspective of power reminded me of looking in a mirror that faces a mirror-- excellent piece here and I hope that one fine day is soon for you! |

And it seems like I spend lots of time waiting for my desires and goals to find fulfillment...meanwhile while I am waiting I try to appreciate the small beauties that surround me...James |
