He quietly turned into the street He’d been gone….. so long He wondered if she’d remember him If she’d recall ……….their song And every leaping step he took He’d look up to the skies His love for her had never dimmed Pools of tears….... his eyes The sun beat down upon his back A blessing from …..above The thoughts of her now in his mind Wrapped his head……….. in love Oh how he loved this freedom song That swept and held his heart To see her face and touch her hair And his love for her ……..impart The gentle breeze caressed his face It made him feel …….so good The day was warm and felt so wild He’d rewrite the past………if he could Her room was bright and smelt so sweet She sat there dumb ……..amazed Her joyful sobs……… a gentle sound As on his face ………..she gazed Her warm embrace though older now Made him at last ……….feel whole As he joined in the angelic choir That sang ……….within his soul ‘I knew you’d come’ she softly said ‘I knew it……… every day’ He’d never been a holy man But he knew tonight…….. he’d pray Jon Mewett [This message has been edited by Jon Mewett (edited 05-16-2001).] |

A wonderful poem. I am presuming this is your Mom you came back to see. And I know how happy she was. Joyce |
