Forever Love

Nothing is of greater worth
Than love of one who gave you birth
Or took and loved you as her own
A deeper love was never know

Your heart is harbored in a place
Of warmth and comfort, truth and grace
You know that when you sleep at night
She’ll still be there in morning’s light

You relished in the praise you won
Delighted in the world she spun
She shaped your future, praised your past
And gave you love a life to last

A mother is the only one
Who stands by all you’ve said and done
No matter how much pain you bear
Her heart is always waiting there

She nourished you in health and soul
And led your youth toward honest goals
Her courage taught in many ways
Has been your strength throughout your days

When mother’s living days were gone
The love continued on and on
Your sorrow’s been consoled and eased
Remembering her words and deeds

Her love is pure and deep and true
And still she’s watching over you
She’s there for you in heaven above
To bless you with forever love

This is so very true...
quote:

When mother’s living days were gone
The love continued on and on
Your sorrow’s been consoled and eased
Remembering her words and deeds

Thank you for this...

Ah Liz ... this is what I needed to read today from you. Simply beautiful! You've captured so many of the wonderful aspects of a Mother's love. I'm so fortunate that my  mom and dad are coming over for a visit today. I have yet to write a poem for her for this year, as sometimes I am simply at a loss for words ... but I do have a few hours left before she arrives. You have inspired me ... thank you my friend. It's time for me to find a little nook and write as well.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Elizabeth:  This is an exceptional writing and I hope that many, many poets read this and enjoy it as much as I have.  I agree with the others - you are truly gifted.

Elizabeth, You NEVER cease to amaze me!
Now that I am a mother of a four year old,
I know what my mother meant when she'd say.....
Someday you'll understand and boy do I ever.
You've captured a mothers love quite well!

Elizabeth,

This is simply beautiful.  These were my favorite lines.

You relished in the praise you won
Delighted in the world she spun
She shaped your future, praised your past
And gave you love a life to last

*appreciating my mother all the more*

May His glory be fresh within me.  May my heart be renewed in His hand.

What a tribute and a fine verse this is.
