You'd have known we loved you, Mama Had you seen the tears we shed; When the doctor told us sadly, That all hope for you had fled. You'd have loved the flowers, Mama That are coming by the score; And the cards and letters, Mama The mail's bringing to your door. Your house is so clean and shining, For we've fixed it up for you. And so many guests are coming, All in your memory too. You would be so happy, Mama As these dear guests all arrive; But why were we all too busy For this, while you were alive? Joyce 5/12/01 |

Joyce~ Sadly, this is the scenario in too many hearts. You've written it quite tenderly. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Sadly, we feel we didn't do enough after a loved one is gone, but from this poem, I would say she is probably looking down proudly with a smile. Beautifully sad Liz |
