When He Speaks My Name-------- 4000th |

I had given up hope Given up dreaming Resigned to being alone Each day like the one before Empty...bleak...colourless Then love came calling Was a simple thing Chance at its finest He was looking for no one Just a random selection Of someone to talk to And we talked About him...about me His home, his country, his life Common ground on which to build Whatever this was Believe? Oh no...no Then one night he called And it was all there in his voice Soft and warm, liquid heat on my skin Dare I? No...no? Days passed, weeks He would call, and it would pour over me And still I resisted Til he said my name...and it was there There in the depth of his voice All the love he held promised to me There in the words he had yet to say He speaks my name Love on his lips And he makes me his unquestionably He speaks my name One word...all words...everything I am complete When he speaks my name. |
