Again They Come Virginia Salter there they are again those tears sitting one layer beneath the surface of my heart my mind, my soul no reason, no rhyme, merely morning time on a sun-drenched day somewhere above the clay that makes me who I am walking done soaking up sun peace and tranquility all around therefore, why, why this aching inside of me as if I’m alone here on the globe here orbiting the universe that was planted so long ago, too long ago to be of consequence to me what does it mean the look of the scene in which I’ve beheld a crimson view a bleeding heart with teardrop of white the two delicately suspended from tender green stems umbrella’d by scalloped leaves is there a lesson for me “a bleeding heart contains beauty unexplainable unfathomable” ©May 10, 2001 |
