Giving up or going on is basically the same
As I pause in time for reflection
Nothing exists outside myself anymore
As I continue this inward introspection

Knowing full well the approaching hour
And things that now will never be
It’s too late for dreams to come true
Just accepting what Fate has in store for me

I feel as if a stranger in my own life
Screaming voices becoming louder now inside
I would hate myself in utter totality
If it wasn’t for my stubborn pride

I live in the past because I have no future
So tell me please how I feel right now
I would give in to each and every sin
If it was something I could allow

Everyone thinks they will live forever
But I’ve come to the foregone conclusion
Something is coming, that much is certain,
To wake us from this delirious delusion

This....leaves one in reflection, pondering.  Well done!

the way your mind works is so cool...*L*
you just poetically defined resignation and complacentcy,
our daily struggle to fight the mundane routine of it all, and how we feel like we havent acheived all we set out to in our youth.
my favorite word comes to mind...unrequited. *S*
love the sarcastic/reality check edge to this, along with the wit and wisdom in perfect rhyme flow.
Im hoping the coming thing is a great summer of new tune releases   lol

"Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold." ...
"So dawn goes down to day,
Nothing gold can stay."
